Malakoff Diggins State Park to close

Due to budget cuts approved by the California legislature, 70 state parks will close, starting in September 2011. Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park near Nevada City is one of the parks that will be closed.

Fire on Race Street, Grass Valley

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Grass Valley fire department responded quickly to a fire on Race Street on Friday 24th April.  A structure at the rear of 111 Race Street was engulfed in flames shortly before the fire department arrived with 4 fire trucks to tackle the blaze.
