Fall in Grass Valley part 2

Following the storm over the past weekend the air is full with the cacophony of leaf blowers in Grass Valley as people work to clear up the multi colored leaves dropped from the trees.

Some trees were stripped of their leaves by the storm and so although some trees have still not shown any fall color yet, some are already bare for winter.

Fall color has arrived in Grass Valley, and in the case of some trees, the color has been and gone!

Walking around the Hennessy and Empire Manor neighborhoods on Saturday October 9th there were trees just beginning to turn, some completely turned, and some that were already shedding their colorful leaves.

Here are a few more photographs of the exceptional Fall Color in Grass Valley.  The tree at the front of Hennessy School is putting on an amazing show, and providing visitors entering downtown Grass Valley from the freeway with a very colorful welcome.  Meanwhile, driving along Race Street from Memorial Park to South Auburn one is treated with an explosion of fall color in the treetops.

Well last week i thought we had seen the best of the fall color on Race Street in Grass Valley, but I was wrong.  Again these colors were augmented by the late afternoon sun.  However, these are likely to be the best days for peak color in this area of Grass Valley as some of the trees that were previously showing color are now shedding their leaves.

Last night the sun was low on the horizon lighting up all of the fall color in Grass Valley like fiery lanterns.   Here’s a photograph from Memorial Park where the fall color is almost peaking at the moment.  In the park itself there are a good number of reds and oranges, while on the backside of the park adjoining Race Street the trees are primarily showing gold.
